In addition to being a handyman, Lenora’s brother-in-law served in the United States Navy, although his service record reflects less than a year of active duty.

These two documents present a curious contradiction. While the earlier selective draft notice indicated a deferment status, Tim’s service record tells a different story.

His classification raises more questions than it answers. At that time, was the Martin household comprised of just Tim and June? If so, what could have caused Lenora to eventually take up residence in the Magnolia Avenue home that would become the site of her haunting?
