Cylinders 1–10

Every effort made these past few months has led to this moment: the release of the audio from the wax cylinders in Lenora’s trunk.

As I found in my time digitizing these tubes, there is a lot of detail to unpack. I’ve decided to group them into batches, in sequence as numbered by Lenora, with a new bundle released every Sunday in October. My hope is that this will give us all an opportunity to investigate and discuss what we are hearing. Some of this has left me shaken.

There was a pair of items in the trunk that I suspect are most pertinent to the contents of today’s recovered audio, presented here for your inspection.

I'm impressed you were able reverse engineer that fold. The handwritten notes elude me (they certainly don't match the sheet music they're on) but I feel safe in assuming it wasn't June who wrote them on there.

It’s gotta be a musical cipher, but I can’t crack it! I can read music, but that’s not helping.

Not yet but I think I at least have the notes. I’ll double check. Not sure if I can spoiler text in these comments though when I post them.

I wonder if the pencilled-in musical notes on the sheet music represent some form of musical cipher?
